A luxurious glamping experience
Enjoy the forest in a beautiful, comfortable way. Glamping is glamorous + camping! Gone are the days of freezing all night and waking up with a sore back. Our camper has a master bedroom with a queen-sized memory foam mattress, a couch that converts to a bed, a dinette that converts to a bed, and two bunk beds with 4-inch memory foam mattress toppers. Inside, you'll enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, pantry, and full bathroom with a walk-in shower. A natural getaway
Our property is designed to provide you with the feeling of isolation in the woods. We ask that each of our guests maintain normal noise levels in order to preserve the essence of this experience. Loud parties and noise pollution are not allowed. Grön Mor is intended to be a place for you to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with your loved ones and nature.
Enjoy Willow River
Nestled within our property, Grön Mor has an expansive 1600 feet of serene river frontage. We have dedicated a common-use area adjacent to the river, designed for all our guests to indulge in the tranquility of nature. This space features a spacious 10 ft x 20 ft canvas tent, equipped with screen doors, providing a shaded retreat from the sun. Inside the tent, you will find a generously sized outdoor sectional and a dining area, perfect for relaxation or social gatherings. For our youngest guests, we offer a 5 ft. hexagonal baby playpen, complete with mosquito netting, ensuring a safe and comfortable nap by the river.
Outside the tent, Our 1600ft river frontage is dotted with idyllic spots for you to unwind by the water. There is a fish cleaning station in the common area. In addition, there is a BBQ grill, fueled by wood fire or charcoal available for your wilderness culinary adventures. (Please note that the fuel for the wood fire or charcoal-fueled BBQ grill is not included)
River Pick Up Service
We are delighted to extend our downstream pick-up service to you for a modest fee of $25 per unit, per day. Water sports enthusiasts can bring their own gear, including paddle boards, kayaks, and inner tubes. Our property offers the unique advantage of direct access to the Willow River, enabling you to set off on a tranquil float or paddle journey toward the town dam in Willow River, MN. Once you've reached your destination, a quick message to us in the Airbnb app will ensure your swift return to Grön Mor. We strive to make your water sports experience as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible.
We are privileged to share our river with a family of beavers. We kindly request that you respect their home and refrain from disturbing them. When navigating their section of the river, please disembark from your watercraft, bypass their dam on land, and then resume your journey in the water.
A fisher's dream!
If you're a fly fisher, enjoy idyllic days fishing for Willow River's natural species. The majority of Willow River is classified as a class 3 trout stream. Several species of fish are common in the lakes and rivers in the area including brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bluegill, bullhead, rock bass, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed.
Right around the corner from Grö Mor Forest Retreat is a small lake with a boat launch called Lake McCormick. McCormick is located in Pine County, Minnesota. The lake is 61 acres in size. It is approximately 17 feet deep at its deepest point. When fishing, anglers can hope to catch a variety of fish including Black Bullhead, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, White Crappie, Yellow Bullhead, Yellow Perch, and Pumpkinseed.
The next two exits North on the 35N highway, are Sturgeon Lake and Moose Lake which are bigger and have several entertainment opportunities to offer. A quick Google Maps search of Willow River MN will show you an area with countless bodies of water to spend a peaceful day in. Our parking area has plenty of room for those guests towing their boats.
